Overview

Established in 1958, International Cooling Tower, Inc. (ICT) designs, manufactures and constructs a complete line of industrial cooling towers for the petrochemical industry, power plants, petroleum refineries, pulp & paper mills, steel factories, mining applications and the food industry. Our operations complete cooling tower projects, aftermarket maintenance activities and a full range of field services in 42 states in the United States.

 

The purpose of this position is to supervise field erection of cooling towers and cooling tower repairs, ensuring that each job is completed safely, efficiently, on time, and to ICT quality standards. The incumbent ensures that the construction aspect of cooling towers is completed under experienced leadership and direction.

 

Further, the incumbent is responsible for customer satisfaction and completing each job according to contract and budget. This role involves travel, both within the US and overseas, in order to effectively hire and supervise the craft workers who complete cooling tower construction. The successful incumbent demonstrates strong leadership skills, ensures that job sites are as safe as possible, works well with clients and fellow associates and stays on time and on budget.

 

The Field Superintendent must work closely with ICT engineering, project management, purchasing and Construction groups to meet or exceed customer expectations. Position may require extensive travel depending on job locations.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with clients
  • Hire, supervise, mentor and terminate craft employees
  • Conduct safety orientations and supervise ICT and industry safe work practices
  • Receive and manage construction materials
  • Supervise erection process
  • Create daily reports and time reports
  • Select suppliers for equipment rental and field job supplies
  • Close out each job, including final paperwork, ensuring client approval and satisfaction
  • Manage budget to produce profit for each job assigned
  • Create and manage schedules and work plans
  • Monitor progress of subcontractors
  • Coordinate and run pre-construction meetings
  • Train and develop Foremen and junior Superintendents
  • Inspect work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to customer and ICT drawings and specifications and ensure adherence to construction schedules
  • Confer with supervisory and engineering personnel and inspectors and suppliers of tools and materials to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods
  • Interpret project drawings and specifications to plan procedures for construction on basis of starting and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction
  • Resource for strategic development of bid and project strategies
  • Resource for problem solving for general superintendents
  • Responsible for large, complex projects
  • Manage large crew resource pools
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned by Field, and Operations Manager.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma, or equivalent
  • 10 - 12 years in field cooling tower construction
  • 3 years (minimum) as a Foreman in cooling tower construction
  • Construction management experience preferred
  • OSHA 10 AND OSHA 30
  • Must pass level 2 DISA background
  • Must pass drug & hair follicle
  • Must have a TWIC card

 

Certifications, Skills and Abilities

  • Must have a Valid Drivers License, and reliable transportation• Certification in CPR and First Aid
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Knowledge of Windows-based applications
  • Knowledge and application of safety standards through OSHA training and experience
  • Rigging, forklift, and man lift certification
  • Ability to manage large crews and work scopes
  • Must be dependable and punctual
  • Must have steel toe boots
  • Work in ALL outdoor climates
  • Working hours range from 40-70, no set hours. Must be flexible to work Sat or Sun, depending on project
